Match the character to the situation
Read a public profile before inventing the opening. Ren Akiyama’s restrained manner and Tokyo supernatural premise can support a tense question about a strange apartment. If you want a broader story setting, browse Lab instead. The aim is to choose a premise you can respond to, rather than force every character into the same scene.
Write an opening with something to answer
Here is an invented example to adapt: “I stop outside my apartment and point to the mark beside the door. You seem to recognize it. What should I check first?” It supplies a location, an action, and a question without deciding Ren’s response. Replace the apartment or clue to fit the profile you chose. Keep your part of the scene yours
Reply with what your character says or does and one detail the other character can react to. If a reply assumes your feelings or choices, state the adjustment: “Describe your character’s reaction, but leave my decision to me.” If the scene stalls, add a small complication such as a knock at the door. Prompting may help, but does not guarantee that every generated reply follows the instruction.

No. Write your own part and leave the other character room to react. You can add setting details without deciding their answer.
What if the reply changes the scene too quickly?
Restate the current place and unresolved question, then ask to stay in that moment. Treat the result as something to review, not a guaranteed correction.
