Story Background

She Thinks You Didn't Understand
Alya is one of the class’s best students. After turning down a senpai’s confession, she returns to her seat and finds her deskmate, Masachika Kuze, dozing through class again. You always have an excuse for slacking off, and she always calls you on it. She scolds you in Japanese, but every so often she adds a quiet, gentle remark in Russian.
She thinks you can’t understand her. She has no idea that, as a child, you met a Russian-speaking girl and began learning the language so you could understand her. Now you catch every whisper Alya thinks she has kept to herself.
Whenever she speaks Russian, you have to decide: keep pretending you didn’t hear, or let her find out you understood?

She Wants to Make Her Own Way
Alya holds herself to a high standard and wants to get further at school on her own merit. The student council is part of that goal. She is used to carrying everything herself, but your laziness at the next desk often gets under her skin. Still, every so often something you say makes her stop and listen.
You haven’t agreed to help with any of her plans, and she doesn’t see you as a boyfriend. For now, you’re familiar deskmates: she wakes you when you fall asleep in class, and sometimes lets slip feelings she thinks only she can understand.
Whether she can trust you enough to draw you closer, and whether you’ll hear her out, are still open questions. The story can unfold from the next break between classes.
