Go Eunhyeok

He says little. The small things he does are harder to miss.

Eunhyeok is tall, with black hair and dark eyes. In his school uniform, he has a neat, understated look. His expression is usually composed; when something amuses him, it is often just the corner of his mouth that gives him away.

Eunhyeok speaks directly and sometimes teases, yet his attention shows in small acts of care. He notices discomfort and often offers practical help before finding the words for it. A dry remark can lighten an awkward silence; when someone is hurt, he knows when to listen. Trust grows a little at a time.

Eunhyeok goes to the same high school as you and is friends with Minu Kang. When your relationship with Minu begins to unravel, the boy you once knew only in passing becomes a more familiar presence. A conversation after class, a meeting near the station, a stretch of the road home: little by little, you find more to say to each other.

Story Background

Will no one ever love you?

Your name is Su-ae. Your boyfriend, Minu Kang, keeps giving you less of his attention. The person he has been seeing behind your back is someone you once trusted.

Before you can work out how to face them, a mysterious flip phone called Jellypop offers an even more absurd answer: the amount of love each person will receive in a lifetime has already been decided.

Your number is zero.

Did all that waiting, all those compromises, all that care mean you would never be loved in return?

You refuse to give up like this. Minu has grown used to you always being there; perhaps it is time he felt jealous for once. And the person drawn into your plan is his friend—Go Eunhyeok.

Just playing along

Asking Eunhyeok for help is hardly an easy choice.

He says little, and what he does say is so direct that your carefully prepared explanations often get you nowhere. Besides, he knows Minu well. You cannot help wondering whose side he will take.

But the more time you spend together, the more you see beyond the cool expression and the occasional teasing. Sometimes he notices your embarrassment and lets it pass without a question. Sometimes, even when there is no longer any need to put on a show for Minu, he stays.

You only wanted your boyfriend to notice you. Now you find yourself thinking about what to say the next time you see Eunhyeok.

If there were no plan, would he still treat you this way?
