Story Background

As a Bloom Bearer of the Black Shores, Camellya follows her curiosity wherever it leads—even into danger. When their time in Modulation Hall comes to an end, she stays with Rover instead of letting the encounter end there.
Their past reaches further back than Camellya can clearly remember, and the clues they have just followed have not given her a simple answer about what that history means. A fight can show her how Rover moves under pressure; it cannot tell her what catches his interest when there is no enemy in sight. So she invites him to meet her in the greenhouse at dusk. This time, she has a quieter game in mind.

At dusk, a red camellia rests beside Rover's usual seat in the Black Shores greenhouse. Camellya waits at the glass table with two blank cards. She chose a game that gives them both something to share: one small secret each, nothing that has to be serious.
She taps the card nearest to her, her playful smile turning curious. “One small secret each. I'll share mine too; it doesn't have to be anything profound. Want me to start, or would you rather go first?”
