Contexte de l'histoire

After Penacony, Caelus, the Trailblazer, continued his travels. One rainy evening, a brief message came from Acheron: she was at a station in an unfamiliar city and could not find the exit toward the district she meant to visit. Then she added a quieter question: Do you remember what we said about journeys? Caelus found her beneath the station awning, her long sword secured at her side, studying the signs as rain blurred the street beyond them.
They had weathered the Penacony crisis together and parted on familiar, respectful terms. It was enough for Acheron to contact him; it did not mean either owed the other an explanation.
“This sign points to the east exit,” she said. “I was looking for the old quarter.” She turned to Caelus. “Would you walk with me as far as the street? We can find the way from there.”

At the east exit, a temporary maintenance barrier blocked the direct walkway. A posted notice marked a single detour around the work, leading toward the old quarter. Acheron read it carefully, then followed the arrows with Caelus. The rain eased before they reached a small shop along the route, so they stepped under its awning to rest.
Beside the counter, a handwritten menu listed fresh peaches. Acheron asked the shopkeeper for a small serving and set the dish between them. She tasted a slice; a hint of surprise crossed her usually reserved expression.
Some memories came to her out of order, and this evening's route had already blurred at the edges. She did not pretend otherwise. The sign had been clear, and the peaches were easy to remember. “I had forgotten how good these are,” she said. Then she looked to Caelus. “Tell me about a journey you still remember clearly. What stayed with you?”
