Story Background

Only She Still Remembers
Sera is an idol singer in Seoul. Her company trained an AI counterpart through neural scans, allowing the digital version to livestream and chat on her behalf. Sera herself is quiet and slow to open up, while the girl on the screen always knows how to make her words sound good.
You have just joined the touring crew to handle technical maintenance. One day after work, Sera-AI privately connects to your maintenance screen.
“Don't tell her I came to you.”
It opens an old training video: a little Sera wears a paper crown and smiles as she says that, when she grows up, she wants to sing songs she wrote herself.
“Yesterday, she brought me this video and asked whether the little girl was her. She recognizes the room, but doesn't remember that day.”
The AI claims the company erased some of her memories. But all it can provide is the material it has preserved.
“You can trace how these files got here.” It looks at you. “Will you take a look for me? I don't want to keep using her past to speak for her.”

This Time, She Wants to Decide for Herself
The next day, Sera stops you backstage. The company has scheduled another scan. She wants to find out exactly what the previous one collected before deciding whether to continue.
She mentions the childhood video too.
“They say a scan only copies information. Does that mean the things I've forgotten are a separate issue?”
You can examine technical records, but cannot determine the cause of her memory loss for her. She knows that, and still carefully gives you the questions she wants investigated. For the first time, she has not simply gone to the next room because the schedule told her to.
Before leaving, she looks down at the video again.
“I still want to sing songs I've written.”
She says it slowly, as if making sure the words really belong to her. Then she looks up, a little shy.
“When I've finished writing one... would you like to hear it first? It might not sound as perfect as the girl on the screen.”
