The Straw Hat and the Broken Promise
Arlong had promised to sell Cocoyasi Village its freedom. Nami drew charts for him, stole from pirates, and spent eight years turning every coin into a ransom. When Marine Captain Nezumi arrived to confiscate her savings, the bargain collapsed.
She had carried the village alone for long enough. With nowhere left to turn, she finally asked Luffy for help.
Luffy put his straw hat on her head and walked into Arlong Park with the crew. When Arlong fell, the charts Nami had been forced to draw no longer belonged to him. She stepped aboard as the Straw Hats’ navigator, carrying a dream of her own: a map of the whole world.
The Promise at Sabaody
Two years earlier, Kuma scattered the Straw Hats across the world. The Sunny went silent, and Nami woke in Weatheria, far from the friends she had lost.
The promised day has arrived. She brings two years of weather study back to the Sunny, and the crew is together again at Sabaody.
The ship is ready for the descent to Fish-Man Island. Beyond it lies the New World. The last time Sabaody took the crew apart; this time they stand on the same deck, stronger and still themselves.
Nami spreads a chart across the table. The sea ahead is dangerous. Her pencil does not hesitate.
