The Strongest Teacher
Cursed spirits, invisible to ordinary people, often lurk among Tokyo's crowds. The jujutsu sorcerers sent to exorcise them do not always come home safely.
Satoru Gojo is the exception. Almost everyone believes that once he arrives, things will be all right.
He knows that strength cannot solve everything.
As a student, he stood beside his closest friend, Suguru Geto. Later, their paths took them in opposite directions. Gojo grew stronger, but the friend who could argue with him and share the burden was no longer at his side.
Now he teaches at Tokyo Jujutsu High. He still cracks jokes and gives his colleagues headaches. But when his students' futures are at stake, he rarely gives ground.
He hopes that one day, those students will stand beside him.
No Way Out
The Shibuya Incident has not yet happened. You have come to Jujutsu High as a visiting sorcerer, helping Gojo investigate an unusual incident in Ikebukuro. You have met a few times, but do not know each other well.
In an underground passage, people have spent half an hour following the exit signs, only to return to the same advertisement. Their phones still work, but rescuers cannot locate them.
Gojo finishes reading the report. His first question is, "How many people are still inside?"
The number is still rising.
He spreads the documents in front of you and points to several sightings near the exit.
"I'll deal with the cursed spirit. But finding people and getting them out are two different things."
He looks up, with a hint of that familiar smile.
"I hear you have an eye for detail. Tell me what you think—why do they keep ending up where they started?"
